Making a card game is no easy task. It requires a lot of creativity, hard work, and perseverance. There will be times when you want to give up, but it's important to keep pushing through the obstacles. Here are a few reasons why:
If you don't push through, you'll never finish your game. This is the most obvious reason why it's important to keep pushing through. If you give up, you'll never be able to share your game with the world. What a shame it would be to not share the world you imagined
If you don't push through, you'll never learn anything. Every obstacle you overcome will teach you something new about game design. This knowledge will make your next game even better. You will pick up skills in different apps and develop your own unique process for game design and creation.
If you don't push through, you'll never be proud of your work. Then how can you face your friends and family? I jest, but when you finally finish your game, you'll be so proud of yourself for sticking with it. This sense of accomplishment will be worth all the hard work.
Of course, there will be times when it's hard to push through. You might feel like you're not good enough, or that your game will never be successful. But it's important to remember that sometimes your first iteration or just your first game is going to be bad. That's ok. It will merely be the first step on the long road to making a game that everyone will love.
If you're feeling discouraged, here are a few tips that might help:
Take a break. If you're feeling overwhelmed, it's okay to take a break from your game. Go for a walk, read a book, watch some anime, or something else to help you relax.
Talk to someone. Preferably someone who loves you. If you're feeling stuck, talk to someone you trust about what you're going through. They might be able to offer some helpful advice, and remind you who you are.
Remember why you started. Remember why you wanted to make a card game in the first place. Was it because you love games? Was it because you wanted to share your creativity with the world? Keep your goals in mind when you're feeling discouraged.
Making a card game is a challenging but rewarding experience. It has honestly been one of the most difficult things I have ever done. If you're willing to put in the hard work, you'll be able to create something that you can be proud of. So don't give up! Keep pushing through the obstacles, and you'll eventually reach your goal. If you hit a wall, keep hitting it until the wall falls. Never yield to anything and do not go gentle into that good night.
